Production Mgr • Cat Lady What are your interests or hobbies? I love long distance running, painting/creating things, camping and music. I've recently gained an interest in mindfulness and self discovery and have shifted the focus of my personal artwork to reflect what I'm learning. What did you want to be when you grew up? As a kid I always knew I needed to create things. I was constantly making signs, drawing pictures, making cards and illustrating my own little books. I just knew I had to take that energy and find a career that would fuel it. I never had a specific line of work or position I saw myself in, but I needed to work in a fast paced & hands on environment that utilizes my creativity to help other people in some way. If I could tell my younger self now what I do for work, she would be mind-blown and over the top excited. What's your favorite thing about working in this industry, or at SignSmith in particular? My absolute favorite thing about working at SignSmith is the ability to care for and work with our customers directly. At previous jobs in larger businesses, I always felt a disconnect between myself and the customer and I often wasn't able to help them in the way that I wanted to or felt I should. At SignSmith, I'm encouraged to go above and beyond for the customer and support them in any way I can. My work inspires me to think outside of the box and present ideas to our customers that not only effectively communicate their message, but do so in a way they may not have thought of themselves. I get to take ideas that exist inside other people's heads and present them to the world through one of the most dynamic mediums ever, how cool is that!
